How to add the Polygon network and NMT to your MetaMask wallet

In order to receive tokens created in the Polygon network, the Polygon network must be added to the wallet. This article explains how to add it, using the world’s most used MetaMask as an example.

How to install MetaMask

First, download MetaMask to your smartphone. You can find it by searching for “MetaMask” in the App Store for iPhone users or Google Play for Android users.

Once the download is complete, save your recovery phrase and activate your MetaMask wallet.

When you first install, you are only connected to the Ethereum network as shown in the capture below, so please follow the steps below to add the Polygon network (MATIC).

Press the hamburger menu represented by the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner to open the “Settings” window.

Select “Networks” and choose “Add Network”.

The following is the “Add Network” screen. Enter the following information on this screen.

Matic Mainnet

• Network name : MATIC MAIN
• RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
• Chain ID: 137
• Symbol: MATIC
• Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network/

If the above settings are correct, MATIC MAINNET should appear in the upper network section and MATIC in the list of tokens, as shown on the screen below.

Next, please add the Neko Mafia Token (NMT) to be displayed. Make sure your MetaMask Wallet is connected to MATIC and tap “Import tokens” to move to the Add Custom Token screen.

After entering the contract address and clicking on the next form, you will automatically see that the token symbol is NMT and the number of token digits is 18, so make sure you have entered the correct information and select Add Token.

Once you are connected to the MATIC network as shown above and NMT appears in the token list, you are ready to receive NMT.
